John Davis is Kubota’s agricultural and ground care dealer manager for the south and south west of England.
Since leaving school, John’s passion for tinkering and fixing all things mechanical led him to an apprenticeship with former tractor dealer Tincknells, before carving out a career with crop sprayers. It was a role he grabbed with both hands while at Kellands Agricultural, which led on to McConnel and the evolution of the self-propelled Agri Buggy.
“I’ve really enjoyed being involved at all levels of industry,” he says. “From working on-farms through to dealership roles, working with importers to establish new brands and latterly with manufacturers.”
Passionate about machinery, John was instrumental in setting up the National Sprayer Demo Days, and says time in the seat of any bit of kit is fundamental to understanding and supporting customer needs in any sector.
“I was ready for a new challenge, and getting stuck into both the ground care and agricultural sectors with Kubota has provided me with a completely fresh outlook,” he says. “And with tractors, telehandlers, compact loaders and ground care machinery, it’s a role that offers huge variety in many different applications, and with a broad customer base.”
Away from work, John enjoys DIY projects at home, along with the opportunity to unwind with holidays.
“I get great pleasure from travelling, and it’s even more enjoyable when you reach a great destination,” he says.
