Kubota will present its vision for a sustainable future of “Food and Agriculture” at “Future Life Expo: Future City”. The theme of Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan, “Designing Future Society for Our Lives” and Kubota’s brand statement “For Earth, For Life,” share future directions.

The Kubota Corporation (Head Office: Naniwa-ku, Osaka, Japan; President and Representative Director: Yuichi Kitao; hereinafter “Kubota”) will sponsor “Future Life Expo: Future City”—one of the Future Society Showcase Projects—at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan, as a platinum partner. In a vision of a future society co-created by eleven sponsoring companies and organizations, Kubota is showcasing a sustainable future of “Food and Agriculture”.

Since its foundation in 1890, Kubota has been offering solutions to contemporary issues in the areas of “food, water, and the environment.” These include the domestic production of water pipes, which supported waterworks development in Japan, an essential requirement for improving the country’s sanitary environment in the late 1800s. They also include the manufacturing of agricultural machinery, which supported mass production of crops to feed a hungry population from the 1960s. Now, Kubota operates in more than 120 countries around the world.
The theme of Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan, “Designing Future Society for Our Lives” and Kubota’s brand statement “For Earth, For Life,” share future directions. Impressed by such a high level of affinity, Kubota has decided to sponsor the expo.

The Future Society Showcase Projects, which includes the Kubota-sponsored “Future Life Expo: Future City” involve a pavilion where eleven sponsoring companies and organizations will work with the Japan Association for the 2025 World Exposition to co-create a vision of what society will look like in the future based on “Society 5.0”—the Japanese government’s vision of a future society—in the form of a story. The narrative will present a future city in which advanced products and services of various kinds make people’s lives easier, as envisioned by Society 5.0.

In the story, Kubota will focus on the theme of “Food and Agriculture,” offering approaches to making food supply and agriculture more abundant and stable. These may include offering production innovations such as automated agricultural machinery as well as digital solutions that accommodate the perspectives of not only producers, but also consumers. Kubota will present a vision to a wide range of visitors from Japan and around the world of a sustainable and resilient society that involves “water,” an essential factor of food production and “resource circulation” deriving valuable resources from waste. It will thus inspire them to think of the future of “Food and Agriculture” as their own issue and move forward hand in hand. In this way, Kubota will contribute to the success of Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan, whose theme is “Designing Future Society for Our Lives.”
