Will Barker is Kubota’s agricultural and groundcare dealer manager for the east Midlands and Eastern Counties.
Passionate about farming and machinery, Will comes from a family-owned dairy farm in Buckinghamshire, which owns George Browns-supplied MG-X and L1 tractors, plus an RTV900 utility vehicle.
“Coming into the tractor business as a former end-user, I have an appreciation of what customers expect from their relationships with dealers,” explains Will. “I’m looking forward to supporting dealers as they continue to introduce more customers to Kubota agricultural and groundcare equipment.”
As part of his University education, Will joined Kubota’s marketing department as a placement student, providing him with a taste of the tractor manufacturing business. On graduating from Harper Adam University with a degree in business management and marketing, he headed to New Zealand to widen his practical experience working with an agricultural contractor.
Returning to the family farm for a two-year period, Will realised that his future in the industry would need to go beyond the farm gates. “Agriculture is where my heart is, and I really enjoyed my placement period with Kubota,” adds Will. “I just needed to wait for the right opening to present itself. And now I have a huge opportunity to chip away at the farming industry’s existing brand loyalty, to help
introduce the next generation of farmers to Kubota’s M-series tractors.” Will enjoys outdoor country pursuits and winter sports, and is also a big rugby fan. “It’s important to unwind with a completely different focus when away from work,” he says. “And my choice of sports and hobbies lets me do just that.”
