Tracey Faulkner is Kubota UK’s Warranty Administrator for construction and has worked with the manufacturer for more than eight years across two stints. Her career spans over 25 years, including a previous spell at one of Kubota’s dealerships.
For Kubota construction customers, Tracey is the main point of contact for anything warranty related – service, new parts, missing keys, the lot. It is also her role to maintain the Kubota dealer relationships over time and check in to ensure everything in bright orange is in good working order.
“I started my career at a shipping company where I first developed my admin, logistics and customer service skills, enhancing these at various roles since,” explains Tracey. “Now, I am back with Kubota and my choice to return when the opportunity arose should tell you what I think about working here.”
As the industry and customer requirements have changed over the years, so has Kubota’s offering, adapting to what serves its end users best. So, you can imagine Tracey’s roles and responsibilities have had to adapt to meet the evolving needs of the industry.
“These days my key responsibilities are customer relations based. This can include networking, looking after the Kubota construction dealer network and helping with whatever enquiry they have – it’s my job to find the best and fastest solution,” continues Tracey. “This can be something as simple as getting an engineer to site to help a customer or processing a warranty claim, raising parts and labor, or even answering the public service helpline.”
So just what does Tracey think of her role these days and working with Kubota…
“I really enjoy this role as I get to work with Kubota’s amazing dealer network. The Kubota construction dealers are the life blood of the business and it’s great to build a close relationship with them to ensure they have everything they need to operate their business as effectively as possible.
“I operate within a close nit team of five, but I also have daily interaction with the whole Kubota U.K team across the site, which really helps you keep your finger on the pulse,” Tracey continues. “The atmosphere here contributes to a lot as well. I never have that feeling of dread coming in to work or wanting to leave. In fact, I’m something of a Kubota advocate because I’ve recently referred a friend of mine to a role, and she’s already mentioned that this is a great place to work too. If I had to describe working at Kubota in three words, it would have to be enjoyable, atmospheric, and positive.”
Of course, a work-life balance is important, and Tracey tries to make the most of her spare time by being active. She says, “You can always find me in the gym or out running. I’ve also just got a dog for the first time ever and am already in love with Fred, who is a half chihuahua, half jack russell. I also make sure to find time to socialise with friends, anything from a night out to a girl’s night in with a good film. Of course, family is so important to me too, and I spend as much time as I can with them.”
