Meet the team – Tom Crossland

Tom Crossland is aftersales dealer manager for Kubota UK. Tom’s career has seen him work both sides of the dealer-manufacturer relationship, and even a stint down under in Australia. Now, having been with Kubota for more than two years, Tom supports dealerships across the North of England.

“I help with everything from services and parts, to commercial needs, buying requirements, training sessions and general overall support for anything dealerships need. Ultimately, my job is to ensure customer satisfaction.

“It’s a cliché, but I love my job as no two days are the same. One day I can be checking in on a dealership either over the phone or visiting, the next I could be on an urgent trip to a dealer who needs keys reprogramming. There is certainly no typical day in this role, which is what I find great about it.”

Covering the North of England is no mean feat, with a good number of dealerships spread wide and fair apart, Tom is often on the road. “I enjoy the travelling aspect too as it allows me to visit places I probably wouldn’t have otherwise visited. And of course, working across both construction and agriculture is great as I get to spend my time meeting different dealership teams all the while and hearing great stories.”

Tom is a huge sports fan and in his spare time is either playing or watching it. “I’m the captain of my local hockey team, which is something I really enjoy. I can often be found at Trent Bridge taking in the cricket, or across the road at The City Ground, watching Nottingham Forest FC. Around the house I usually get stuck into some DIY or gardening, I’m particularly proud of my vegetable patch.”

Tom is enthusiastic about both working for Kubota and in the construction industry and says given the chance, others should take the opportunity too. “If I had to describe working for Kubota in three words, they would be, rewarding, variety and challenge. It is a great company to work for, with a fantastic team. I’d advise anyone looking to get into this kind of role to never rest on your laurels and always take the opportunities afforded you. You won’t regret it.”
