Each issue, we will be profiling a member of the Kubota team to help give you a better understanding of the people that make our business work, both professionally and personally.
First up is Rob Edwards, who joined Kubota earlier this year as Business Development Manager for Agriculture, a new role that was created inline with the company’s plans to move into the larger horsepower tractor market.
Rob has extensive experience in the Ag market, having joined Kubota from SAME Deutz-Fahr, where he had worked for 13 years. He has also worked at a Warwickshire based Ford tractor dealer, Ford New Holland and Kverneland.
We put a few questions to Rob to get to know him better, here’s what he said!
WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST JOB:
I started being paid from the age of 11 for working in the family farm, haulage and butchery business. First proper job after college was with Murleys of Warwick endlessly repairing Ford tractors.
BIGGEST ACHIEVEMENT:
On a professional level, my biggest achievement was hosting a world tractor launch in 2012. Personally, persuading my wife to marry me has to be up there too!
FAVOURITE FILM:
It has to be Pulp Fiction
SPECIALIST SUBJECT ON MASTERMIND:
Chassis welding on a 1988 LandRover 90
BEST AND WORST PART OF YOUR JOB:
The best part of my job is working in the UK ag industry, whilst also seeing some amazing parts of the countryside. The worst part, that’s easy, travel delays and traffic jams!
IDEAL CELEBRITY DATE:
Uma Thurman
