Sam Thompson is Kubota’s agricultural and ground care dealer manager for Ireland. With almost 10 years’ service under his belt, Sam started initially with ground care equipment until the first M-series models arrived.
He also has construction equipment experience too.
“I gained a lot of experience working for a Kubota dealer in Northern Ireland when I first left school,” he says. “It was a great foundation for my career, and that period of my life helped me to make the transition into working directly for a manufacturer.”
With Sam’s dad running his own machinery hire business while young Thompson was growing up, he says he was fortunate enough to spend a lot of time around equipment and people, from all walks of life. It is why he gets as much pleasure from customers as he does from the equipment.
“There’s some great characters in the industry, who I’m pleased to call my friends, and it is great to see how Kubota kit helps their businesses,” he adds.
Away from the challenges of work, Sam enjoys mountain biking, and dog walking – both provide opportunities to appreciate wide open spaces, and present opportunities to unwind.
