Kubota UK has signed a landmark agreement with HSS Hire Group (“HSS Hire”) to supply its market leading range of mini-excavators and compact construction equipment.
The deal, an industry first between these two major players in the construction plant and hire sector, will initially see 200 Kubota machines available from all forty-plus HSS Hire depots across Greater London. Following this successful trial period in the nation’s Capital, this contract will then be rolled out across HSS Hire’s network of over 300 locations across the UK.

Under the partnership, 200 brand new Kubota machines will be available to hire, with next-day delivery guaranteed, from all HSS Hire depots within Greater London. HSS Hire will supply Kubota’s state-of-the-art machines with GPS tracker technology installed as standard, with a 24/7 four-hour breakdown response service also included, providing maximum peace-of-mind and minimum chance of operational downtime for end users. Kubota will also be providing specialist maintenance, co-ordination and troubleshooting under the agreement.

The Kubota excavator models featured within the initial 200 machine deal include 100 x U17-3 (1.5 tonne) zero tail mini excavators, 70 x KX61-3 (2.5 tonne) machines and 30 x K008-3 (1 tonne) micro excavators, offering a wide array of solutions for HSS Hire’s building and landscaping customers within the Capital. The machines will also be available to nationwide firms undertaking contracts within Greater London.
The 1 to 2.5 tonne range of Kubota equipment that HSS Hire has opted for is ideally suited to a wide variety of jobs where space is at a premium, from roadside excavation, to working in back gardens or other areas where access is limited by narrow gates or doorways – with applications including digging foundations, footings, new patios, converting basements, constructing ponds and landscaping.
