What is Farm Safety Week?

Kubota proudly supports #FarmSafetyWeek, an annual campaign managed and funded by the Farm Safety Foundation (Yellow Wellies). The 2025 campaign that will be running from the 21st to the 25th July, and is the 13th annual #FarmSafetyWeek. Supported by more than 400 partners in five countries; England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.

Over the years Farm Safety Week has become an important focus in the farming calendar. Designed to raise awareness of, and challenge attitudes to farm safety and poor mental health in the industry. Taking steps towards a brighter and safer future for the farming community.

How is Kubota making a difference?

This year, throughout Farm Safety Week, Kubota UK is proud to continue supporting and raising awareness of safe practices on farms. To help spread this vital message, we’re distributing our Farm Safety leaflets, which have been specially produced ahead of the Royal Highland Show and the Royal Welsh Show – with the Royal Welsh Show taking place during this year’s Farm Safety Week.

We are also distributing Kubota x Farm Safety Week high-visibility vests to promote the use of PPE and a safer work place environment on the farm. These are free to anybody who visits the Kubota stand at the upcoming Royal Welsh Show throughout the week, supporting the initiative and creating meaningful conversations.

Finally, we will be continuing the tradition of previous years by donating 25% of all sales from the Kubota Shop at the Royal Highland Show and the Royal Welsh Show to support the fantastic efforts of the Farm Safety Foundation (Yellow Wellies) team.

Farming – Unlucky for some?

Farm Safety Week is marking its 13th year – prompting many to ask why, despite increased awareness of the dangers and development of safety improvements – is farming still unlucky for some?

According to Stephanie Berkeley, manager of the Farm Safety Foundation, the charity leading the campaign: “Over the years we have seen the attitudes and behaviours around farm safety changing but the pace of change is slow – too slow for the families of those we have lost in the industry and too slow for the thousands of farmers suffering every day with long term ill-health or serious injuries as a result of their work. This years campaign offers an opportunity for a reset in the way we approach farm safety and risk-taking. Each of us can improve how we work on the farm but we also have a responsibility not to tolerate poor safety behaviours in others. It’s not somebody else’s job to drive this change in culture, and we can not rely on luck when going about our daily tasks – luck has a habit of running out!”

Farming continues to have the poorest safety record of any occupation in the UK and Ireland and Farm Safety Week will bring together over 400 farming organisations in five countries* to raise awareness, inspire change and encourage everyone living and working in the industry to make our farms safer places to work, to live and to visit.
